Geranium is obtained through steam distillation, through the leaves and flowers of the Geranium Plant (Pelargonium graveolens) .
Geranium EO dates back for the use by early Egyptians for soft, glowing skin! Egypt is one of the main early origins where you’d find the use of Geranium.
Egypt as well as Africa, Madagascar and Morocco is where you can typically see it grown commercially, and before our day, some 400 years ago it was introduced to some European countries.

Description
Geranium is a hairy little perennial shrub and it can reach up to 3 feet tall. It’s leaves are point with jagged little edges. It’s flowers can be white to pink to red in colour, depending on its surroundings.
There are many varieties of Geranium, and in this research I’ve come to discover that not all of them are scented, but the make-up benefits and uses are almost identical. It’s described as a middle note, with a vibrant herbaceous, floral scent.
Geranium can be blended and paired with Basil, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Fennel, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, Lemongrass, Neroli, Orange and Nutmeg!
That’s quite a list, blend them as you wish. I use geranium in a bug repellent blend, as well as a blend I use for hormonally intense times during or around my Moon Days. Not only does it have amazing health benefits, it just plain smells beautiful! I get loads of compliments when I wear this, in my blends! It’s also a component in my Fountain of Youth blend, along with Frankincense and Lavender, that I use all over my entire body!
Some might even use the petals of the flowers of the Geranium plant in sweets and jellies for decorations and visual representation.
Use some caution when using this one, since it’s photosensitive, it’s important to dilute this EO with a natural carrier oil, for use in the sun and so it doesn’t do long term skin damage from possibly being used in the same areas over time.

***Disclaimer ***
Essential oils should never be used in place of proper medical treatment, in the case of something major, and should be consulted by your Dr. for such use! It’s generally safe to use alongside most medications from my courses and research, but there are always precautions to take.
**Please by sure you’re using 100% Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. This matters big time and is a must, some companies (shaking fists wildly) will use additives or are using oils that have been adulterated in some way to cut costs, so please know what you’re buying!!!**
